Mrs. Kathy Edwards Handy, age 71 of Stuart, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2025 at her home. She was born in Mount Airy North Carolina on September 6, 1954 to the late Roscoe Emmit Edwards and Georgia Eaton Edwards. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Handy was preceded in death by a daughter, Jillian Handy Anderson; and a brother, Barry Edwards. She was of the Primitive Baptist faith and attended Russell Creek Primitive Baptist Church. She had a green thumb and enjoyed growing flowers. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who never met a stranger. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
Mrs. Handy is survived by her husband of 51 years, Douglas Wayne Handy; two daughters, Shawna Handy Angel (James Marcus Angel) and Rebecca Handy Titular; four grandchildren, Kyra Titular, Alyssa Titular, Serenity Garrison and Hailey Anderson; a brother, Tony Edwards (Melanie); and two sisters, Susan Shelton (Jerry) and Anita Linville (Eric), several nieces, nephews, and other family members.
A graveside service for Mrs. Handy will be held Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. in Patrick Memorial Gardens with Elder Lowell Hopkins officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart from 10:00 A.M. until time to leave for the cemetery.
