Kevin L. “The Storm” Corns, age 47 of Stuart, passed away Monday, December 14, 2020 at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC. He was born in Patrick County on November 26, 1973. He was preceded in death by his father, Kent Leroy Corns and his father-in-law, Terry White. Kevin was a Sergeant with the Virginia Department of Correction for 18 years. He was a board member for the Patrick Springs Park. He loved the beach and spending time with his family and friends. Through his five-year fight with cancer his girls always called him Superman. He would often come back from his treatments and coach his daughter’s softball teams.
Surviving are his wife, Michelle White Corns of the home; two daughters, Hayley Corns and Paige Corns of the home; his mother, Kathy Cockram of Stuart; one sister, Angela Kirk of Stuart; his mother-in-law, Glynda Cassady of Patrick Springs; one sister-in-law, Nicole Dillon of Patrick Springs; two brothers-in-law, T.J. White of West Virginia, Tracy Reed of Eden, NC; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends.
A graveside service will be held Friday, December 18, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Corns Family Cemetery. His body will lie in state at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart on Thursday, December 17, 2020 from 2 to 5.
