Class is in session for berry growers.
A two-day Virginia Berry School to teach the ins and outs of berry production will be held March 12 and 13 at Virginia State University’s Randolph Farm Pavilion.
Berry experts will hold classroom sessions and lead hands-on demonstrations for soil preparation, planting, selecting appropriate varieties, pruning, pest and disease management, harvesting, post-harvesting and marketing.
The course will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is sponsored by Virginia Cooperative Extension and the Small Farm Outreach Program at VSU.
