Genesis 1:27-28
“Ladies, You Are Valuable”

Ladies, you are valuable. The Bible teaches this from the very beginning. “So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” (Genesis 1:27-28)
To think that women have to be equal to men in every way is deceptive and harmful. This way of thinking does not make women more valuable; it devalues women. It essentially says that being a man is better, and that being a woman is not good enough. The fact is that not all men are equal in every way. Neither are all women equal in every way. We all have different heights, strengths, abilities, etc. The list could go on forever. These differences do not make us more, or less, valuable. Being made in God’s image makes us all equally valuable.
Both men and women are made in God’s image. The Bible says so. Women have intrinsic value given to them by God. Women are equally as valuable as men. The suggestion that there is any more value in one gender over another is not of God. It is from our enemy, the devil, who seeks every way he can to divide us. He wants us to rebel against God and turn against each other. We should resist the devil, honor God, and value one another as God has made us.
Another thought today that is deceptive and harmful is that men can become women and women can become men. This is also from the devil. If we followed this idea to its logical conclusion, humans would become extinct. Abortion plus gender confusion equals zero. That’s how many would eventually be left if everyone aborted their babies or tried to change genders. Thankfully, the majority do not think this way. Otherwise, we would be in trouble.
God gave us the command to be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth. He gave men a role in this, and He gave women a role. The roles are not equal, but they are equally important. Men and women are complementary partners with specific roles. We can support one another, but we cannot replace each other. Men and women are equally valuable and equally necessary to fulfill this command of God.
There are, of course, ways in which men and women are equal. Both men and women need air to live. The list of ways men and women are equal could be long, as well as the list of differences. A very important way we are equal is stated in Romans 3:23. “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” The reason it is important to know this is because the Bible says that “the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23) Because God made us in His image, He is not satisfied to let us die in our sins. He loved us so much “that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
I hope you know how valuable you are just the way God made you. God loves you no matter how far you have strayed from Him. You have not gone so far that He cannot save you and bring you back to Himself. Please receive His love and forgiveness by turning from your sin and receiving His Son, Jesus Christ. Ladies and gentlemen, YOU ARE VALUABLE!
