The Patrick County High School junior varsity Lady Cougar basketball team ended its season with a win against Hidden Valley, 29-10. Their season record is 16-4.
Sierra Hubbard scored 15 points and Amanda Ramey added five.
“This was a very good win for our girls,” said Coach Donny Rakes. “Neither team shot very well, but we found a way,” he added.
The Lady Cougars played an extremely good defense, “maybe our best all year,” said Rakes.
As with other Patrick County teams, several Lady Cougars were out with illness. “This was an ‘effort game’ due to the flu hitting several players,” Rakes said. “They really fought through it,” he added.
“This was a very strong year for out ream,” he said. “We started out 3-4, then won 13 straight to complete the year. We improved as much as any team I have ever coached,” said Rakes. “I am proud of the girls and our season.”
