The Patrick County High School ladies’ tennis team traveled to Halifax last Thursday and played the Lady Comets to a 7-2 loss.
“The match was much closer than the scores indicate,” said tennis coach Sharon Smith. “We had a week of school closings and no practice time and it showed in our execution of shots,” she said.
“On the bright side, Helen Dawson is undefeated in singles,” Smith explained.
The Lady Cougars hosted tough opponent Christiansburg Monday; they travel to Floyd Thursday to meet the Lady Buffaloes.
