The Lady Cougars hosted the Northside Vikings from Roanoke last Wednesday and defeated them by the score of 65-50.
Patrick County jumped out to a 19-4 lead in the first quarter, and by halftime was ahead 37-19. The Cougars were not threatened in the second half.
Head Coach Donny Rakes praised his team’s defensive effort, especially focusing a lot of early turnovers and holding Vikings star player Tracy Heston in check.
Leading the effort was Sierra Hubbard, who had 15 points and 18 rebounds, and Hannah Roberson, who led the Cougars in scoring with 20 points. Izzy Beasley added 10 points.
The Lady Cougars are 14-1 for the season.
