The Patrick County High School Lady Cougar tennis team scrimmaged Franklin County last Thursday afternoon.
“We lost our match, but I was happy with how the girls played,” said Coach Sharon Smith. “They showed improvement—Franklin County is talented,” she added.
Helen Dawson and Ashton Young won their doubles match 8-6. Helen Dawson won her singles match 8-5, and Ashton Young also won her singles match 8-1. Hannah Martin lost a close one 7-9.
The Lady Cougars play at Halifax Thursday afternoon, starting at 4:30 p.m.
