The Patrick County High School Lady Cougar softball team had a “very successful scrimmage” against the Carroll County Lady Cavaliers last Thursday.
The format for the scrimmage was two four-inning games.
Cassidy Largen took to the circle in the first four innings, striking out eight batters and only two hits. “She pitched very well,” said Coach Roger Wilson.
Josie Pendleton pitched the second four-inning scrimmage. “She had two three-up—three-down innings and three strike-outs,” Wilson said. “We saw some very promising things from her,” he added.
“As a team, we still have some things that needs improving, but we were overall every pleased with our performance,” he said.
The Lady Cougar season began Monday at home against Floyd. They host Blacksburg Thursday afternoon at 5 p.m.
Come out and support the Lady Cougar Softball teams this spring. “Our girls love a crowd!” said Coach Nikki Handy.
