The Patrick County girls’ varsity basketball team traveled to Martinsville last Friday and lost a tough game to the Bulldogs 47-35.
The Cougars was only behind 15-12 at the end of the first quarter, but scored 7 points in the second quarter and trailed 22-15 at the half.
The Cougars were held to 20 points in the second half. Head Coach Donny Rakes said the team was “outhustled, out-scrapped, out-worked, and out-coached.” Sierra Hubbard scored 12 points for the Cougars while Hannah Roberson had 10 points. The loss was only the second of the year for the Cougars.
