Starting with an 11-0 lead, the Patrick County Lady Cougars never looked back in their October 14 matchup, sweeping Martinsville in three sets: 25-6, 25-16, 25-19.
Camille Gonzalez served 7 of her 11 aces during that opening run, helping the Lady Cougars take full control early. They closed out the first set 25-6
Martinsville briefly led 3-2 in the second set before Patrick County responded with a 12-1 run to go up 14-4. The Bulldogs never got closer than six points, dropping the set 25-16.
The third set remained close early with the Lady Cougars holding a single point lead, 7-6. After increasing their lead to 17-10, they closed out the set, and the match, 25-19.
In addition to her 11 aces, Camille Gonzalez added 10 assists. Brooke Collins chipped in 12 assists and Journey Moors finished with 7 kills and 7 digs.
