“We just finished a great season,” said Lady Cougar volleyball Coach Heidi Moore.
Patrick County High School improved its record to 17-3 with last Tuesday’s victory over the Martinsville Lady Bulldogs. The Lady Cougars won in three sets: 25-8, 25-5 and 25-5.
Melanie Roberson had 15 assists and six aces. Hanna Hylton had eight kills and six aces while Sydney Biggs added eight kills and two aces.
The Lady Cougars will play the winner of the Blacksburg/Christiansburg game Tuesday night (yesterday) at the Lady Cougar gym, starting at 6 p.m.
If Patrick County wins Tuesday night, the Lady Cougars will advance to the championship round Thursday night—then advance to regional competition. The location of Thursday’s game has not been announced.
“Let’s hope we win Tuesday night and continue to play on Thursday to advance to regionals,” said Coach Moore.
