Lena Earlene Hooker Lawson Collins, age 78, of Pilot Mountain, N.C., died Sunday, August 28, 2016, at Forsyth Medical Center.
She was born in Patrick County on October 27, 1937, to the late Arthur R. and Frances Marie Collins Hooker. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, James Ray Lawson; her second husband, Coy Collins; two sisters and two brothers.
She retired from Spencer’s and was a member and treasurer of Tom’s Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Joseph “J.B.” Ayers of Pinnacle, N.C., and a son and daughter-in-law, James and Tina Lawson of Pilot Mountain; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Louise Bridges.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) at State Line Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Jimmy Joyce officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Her body will lie in state at the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
