Lena S “Peg” Spencer, 79, of Bassett, died on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
She was born February 5, 1937 and was a daughter of the late Dorothy Shelton and John Albert Spencer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Norman Spencer, and a sister; Laura Sowers.
She worked many years at CMI in Stuart where she later retired. She had a loving companion “Bear” her dog.
Surviving are one son; Joseph “Don” Gilley and wife Elaine, three brothers; Frank Spencer and Joseph Spencer, both of Patrick Springs, and Daniel Spencer of Woolwine; three grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held Friday at County Line Church of God of Prophecy in Patrick Springs with the Rev. Darrel Hundley officiating.
