President Trump wants to lower our taxes but for Congress to do this they need to fully repeal Obamacare. That means getting rid of the regulatory architecture of Obamacare.
The AHCA (H.B.1628) that Speaker Paul Ryan was trying to pass did not include the following: insurance regulations and mandates such as community rating, essential health benefits, guarantee issue, actuarial value, etc. These mandates restrict consumer choice and also drive up the cost of health care premiums.
The House Freedom Caucus attempted to get the regulatory architecture (Title I) of Obamacare fully repealed but failed because some in Congress would not agree. We need to let Morgan Griffith know that we expect him to keep his promise and vote for full repeal of Obamacare.
