Recently, my parents were hospitalized at Pioneer Community Hospital here in Stuart. Both were admitted with very serious medical conditions. The care given them by the dedicated, professional staff was outstanding.
These people work long, hard, stressful hours and really care about their patients and family members. They were never too busy to answer my questions or explain medical or insurance coverage situations.
Persistent medications, therapy and encouragement saved my father and provided my mother with a period where she rebounded and enjoyed a time of improvement until her passing on April 25.
Our area is very fortunate to have a hospital that is spotless and provides care and services right down the road. When new ownership takes place at this facility, hopefully they will see the value of the existing staff and continue to provide them employment.
