If you are looking to do something that will make a difference in the Meadows of Dan community, consider joining the Meadows of Dan Women’s Club. This dynamic group of women organizes such functions as yard sales, craft shows, and more recently bingo fund-raisers to raise money for a myriad of recipients.
Established in 1938, the club has provided thousands of dollars in scholarships over the years for Meadows of Dan students and contributed to many other programs such as the Meadows of Dan school field trips, backpack program and the after school program; the exercise class, Christmas parade on the mountain, blood drives, bookmobile, the Meadows of Dan Fire Department and Vesta Rescue Squad, and the upkeep and beautification of the Meadows of Dan Community Center.
Each year the club provides a senior singles Christmas dinner complete with all the trimmings.
Bingo is held on the first Saturday of every month starting at 5 p.m. at the Meadows of Dan Community Center. The August proceeds will benefit the revitalization of the Mountaintop Recreation Park. We have lots of fun. Please come and join us.
We don’t work all the time. At least twice a year we have a group outing by going to a dinner theatre, a tour, or just having lunch at a special place. The Women’s Club meets at 1:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of every month at the Meadows of Dan Community Center. For more information, call Mary Locke at (276) 952-6395.
