Several years ago I came upon The Enterprise and noticed Ivalien Reynolds’ “Mountain Top Party Line” column when she was known as Ivalien Belcher. Although I am not acquainted with many of the folk she writes about, the way she portrays them makes them seem like neighbors.
I use to know almost everyone along the road from Laurel Fork to Meadows of an when the Danville Pike was State Road No. 12 and a muddy mess after the rain. Now, we drive every week to Poor Farmer’s Market to pick up The Enterprise and I don’t know anyone along the way.
Most of the houses are gone, the residents died and no one took their place.
The Enterprise if fortunate to have Reynolds’ weekly newsletter.
I hope she keeps on keeping on.
Sincerely,
Glenn Jackson
