Twenty-six equivalent units of whole blood were collected with a goal of 41 units; 24 units of whole blood and one donor of double reds. That translates to helping as many as 84 people.
But, you know? It’s not about the numbers. It’s really about the people we are able to help, it’s about “paying forward.”
November average wait-time, from “arrival to table,” was 20 minutes. There were three first-time donors.
Thanks to all donors who took time out of their day to do their part to help others in need. Always remember, every donor counts and is gratefully appreciated. And every person who presents makes a difference.
Thanks to the devoted volunteers who worked during the blood drive. They were Laura Citrano, Patty Brunner, Linda Smith, John Johnson, Judi Sanborn, Everett Rakes, Michele Boyd, and Pauline Tatum.
Please welcome our newest volunteers, Juanita Mitchell and Jack Vessel, and a special thanks to Chad Corns who took time off from work to volunteer. Thanks, volunteers, for making all donors welcome and comfortable.
Thank you, Vicki Hutchens-Bennett of New York Life, a first-time sponsor, for sponsoring this month’s blood drive.
December’s scheduled sponsor is Mountain Valley Hospice, a first-time sponsor.
Next month’s blood drive is scheduled on Tuesday, December 12, at Rotary Field in the John D. Hooker Memorial Building from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. It’s now the second Tuesday of every month.
Give blood, give life. Make a difference in your life as well as the lives of others in need.
Remember, a successful blood drive = donors + sponsors + volunteers + Red Cross. Each one is as important as the other.
Thank you again for making the November blood drive a success.
