On behalf of the Patrick County Long Term Care Committee and Southern Area Agency on Aging we would like to thank each of you who came out last Friday to our Senior Health Fair (THINK PINK) in honor of Breast Awareness Month.
Everyone seemed to enjoy the free brunch, door prizes, good music by Junior and Ramona Cassidy and friends and, as always, good fellowship.
I would also like to thank each of you that came out Saturday night to the Grand Old Opry and ate with the Alzheimer’s Group. Every dollar we receive goes to fight the deadly disease of Alzheimer’s. This month the Alzheimer’s Group LLC has had the Memory Walk and Sock Hop that was a success with the help of the talent of the Drama Club from Patrick County High School. We also had services rendered from our local JROTC and the Beta Club. Hopefully we can make our teenagers more aware of this disease and how they can help deal or understand it.
Also, the Health Fair, the Apple Dumpling Festival and the food for the Grand Old Opry each were a success and went wonderfully well.
We have a working bunch of members that are so dedicated for our cause! We would like to thank everyone that helped plan, worked, sold tickets, welcomed people, or just helped in any way to make these events a success.
We would especially like to thank our sponsors and many anonymous donors who made this event possible. Most of all we would like to thank the public for always being there to help.
We can make a difference!
