The Empty Bowls event on March 24 was a huge success because of the help of so many. We are so thankful for the overwhelming support of the community for this community art project/fundraiser to support the food bank.
I would love to recognize individual people and groups but there have been over 500 different people, groups and businesses involved in making the event happen so I will just recognize categories of people. Please note: whatever you did we do appreciate you.
Thanks to all the supporters of the crowdfunding that allowed us to purchase supplies to make the bowls and run the event.
Thanks to the 400+ bowl makers and glazers. Your construction and decoration of 800 beautiful unique bowls for the event was awesome. What an amazing community art project.
Thanks to the elementary school teachers, students and parents for support of this project with bowl making and promotion. Thanks to all who helped promote it.
Thanks to the local businesses and individuals that donated items for the silent auction.
Thanks to the soup makers for the delicious soups. A special thanks to those who also came to serve their soup. Thanks to the bread bakers for the yummy homemade bread.
Thanks to the groups that provided music for our entertainment during the event. Thanks for the design committee. Thanks for the amazing set up and decorating crew that built the display for the bowls, hung backdrops and set out the 800 bowls.
Thanks to all the volunteers who worked at the event including many highschool students. Thanks to the committee that worked for months planning this event. Thanks to Reynolds Homestead for sponsoring this event and the staff for working so hard to make it happen.
Thank you to Mother Nature for holding the snow off just long enough for us to hold the event.
Thank you to all who came and supported the event. A special thanks to all the individuals that just stepped up and said “What can I do to help?” and then jumped in and did whatever was needed.
I am bowled over at the support for this project. What an amazing community we live in.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Sincerely,
Norma Bozenmayer
