The Ararat Community Watch held its March meeting on Feb. 28. Sheriff Dan Smith opened with comments, questions, and updates on the County.
Special guest speaker, Deputy Bob Pittis, administrator of the Project Life Saver,
demonstrated how the tracking device works. This tracking device would be attached to the person, whether they have Alzheimer’s, Dementia, or autism.
If they walk away from their home or area of living, they could be found by using this device, up to a one-mile radius.
The Patrick County Sheriff’s office owns this device, along with all items, batteries, etc. It is supplied
by the Alzheimer’s Group of Stuart.
If you feel you need this assistance for a family member, call the Sheriff’s office at (276) 694-3161, and Deputy Pittis will make arrangements to visit your home.
The next meeting will be held on May 23.
