Monday, Dec. 5, is the due date for payment of the second-half of 2016 real-estate taxes, 2016 personal property taxes and vehicle license fees.
Residents who have not received their statements should immediately contact the Patrick County Treasurer’s office at (276) 694-7257 or visit Room 221 in the Veterans Memorial Building. The office is open Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
A 10 percent penalty is added on Dec. 6 to unpaid taxes.
A 10 percent per annum interest begins accruing on unpaid taxes plus their penalties 26 days after the due dates.
Residents should remit payment to: the treasurer’s office or by mail to P.O. Box 668, Stuart, Va., 24171.
The treasurer’s office will be closed from noon on Wednesday, Nov. 23, through Friday, Nov. 25, in observance of Thanksgiving.
