Lonnie Eugene Martin, 74, of Fork Mountain, died Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Patrick County on October 21, 1941 and was a son of the late Oscar Martin and the late Edna Craig Martin.
He was a welder and craftsman who touched countless people through his trade.
Surviving are his wife, Angela Martin; two children, Todd Cassell and Julie Morris three grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Shirley Pendleton, Peggy Haynes, Kenny Martin, Betty Sue Martin, Sandra Akers and Mike Martin; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service was held Sunday in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel. All other services were private.
