The Patrick County Food Bank would like to thank all volunteers and donors for another successful year.
The coming year will be met with continued enthusiasm as volunteers meet monthly to pack boxes and greet clients for distribution. This year offered new opportunities to community organizations for volunteerism.
Love Wins Everytime greeted clients monthly with warm meals and beverages. December brought about an opportunity for more community volunteers to get involved. More than 30 individuals cooked and packaged vegetable soup for distribution to each client as a special Christmas treat. A local Girl Scout Troop also volunteered, handing out handmade Christmas ornaments and singing carols.
Many students and parents from the community were present, preparing hot cocoa, handmade Christmas notes attached to candy canes, and distributing the homemade vegetable soup.
The Food Bank distributes on the third Wednesday of each month from 8:30 to 11 a.m. and 5 to 6:30 p.m. Volunteers are always welcome to help pack boxes on the second Wednesday of each month at 9 a.m.
As well, the Patrick County Food Bank appreciates any and all monetary and in-kind donations. We are so thankful for those local organizations and individuals who donate on a monthly basis. With the new year, we look forward to becoming a part of your budgeted giving. Please mail donations to P.O. Box 1304, Stuart, VA 24171.
