Mary Princess Gunnell Vaughn, age 83, of Mount Airy, N.C., died Saturday, February 20, at Central Continuing Care.
She was born in Patrick County on March 7, 1932, and was a daughter of the late Dixie and Ada Hawks Gunnell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Melvin Vaughn; sisters, Marie Hall and Frances Pruitt; a half-sister, Nellie Lawson; brother, Clyde Gunnell; and a half-brother, Eugene Gunnell.
Surviving are daughters, Vicki V. Mashburn and Donna Vaughn; two grandchildren; a sister-in-law; and a special nephew.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Mt. Calvary CME Church. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service..
Arrangements are by Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
