A single vehicle crash resulted in the death of a Meadows of Dan man, according to a release received Sept. 2 from the Virginia State Police.
According to the release, the crash occurred Sunday, July 26 at 6:09 p.m., on Virginia 799, just east of Virginia 805 in Floyd County.
A 1999 Harley Davidson Road King was traveling east on Virginia 799, when the driver lost control and crashed; ejecting the driver, the release stated.
Matthew Ryan Dalton, 39, of Meadows of Dan, was operating the vehicle, according to the release. He was wearing a helmet and was transported to Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where he later died.
The Virginia State Police was notified of his death and updated the crash report to show the fatality, according to the release.
Virginia State Police Trooper S.M. Chaffin is investigating the incident.
