Patrick Henry Community College (PHCC) students and alumnae have only a few days left to join the Miss PHCC Scholarship Pageant, but the opportunity for community members to take part has now arrived.

Tickets are now on sale at the Martinsville Visitor’s Center (located at 191 Fayette Street, Martinsville) and at the PHCC Switchboard (located in West Hall Lobby). Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door. The pageant is Saturday, February 4 at 6 p.m. in PHCC’s Walker Theatre.

For young women interested in competing, the application deadline is Friday, January 27 at 5 p.m. Applications are available online at www.patrickhenry.edu/MissPHCC. Applicants can mail applications to the PHCC Foundation, 645 Patriot Road, Martinsville, VA 24112 or deliver them to 146 Frith Hall.

Eligible applicants must be current and former PHCC students ages 17-24 who currently reside in Virginia. Participants must be 17 on the day of the Miss PHCC event and can be no older than 24 on December 31.

The pool of scholarships contestants are vying for exceeds $20,000. The winner also advances to participate in the Miss Virginia competition and possibly Miss America for more opportunities to win even more scholarship money.
