Monroe Morse, a recent graduate of Patrick County High School, has signed to run for Patrick Henry Community College’s XC team.
During his spring season at PCHS, Morse finished 5th in the region in outdoor track in the 3200 with a time of 10:36.
Morse also had a great season for PCHS’s XC team last fall.
Among other accomplishments while running for PCHS, Morse was 5th in the district on the cross country team, 11th in the region for cross country with a time of 17:15, and as well on the 4×800 indoor track team that went to state competition.
Morse said he is excited to begin running at PHCC.
His new coach,Kidd, said Morse “is a great guy and we will get along real well.”
Morse “would love to take the team to nationals” while at PHCC.
Along with continuing his running career at PHCC, Morse plans to volunteer coach for the PCHS XC and track teams for the 2018-2019 school year.
He plans to become a certified industrial welder and mechanic. Morse also received the Patrick Henry Scholars Scholarship.
