Farmers adversely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic are eligible for a second round of payments through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Coronavirus Food Assistance Program.
Contract livestock and poultry growers, as well as turfgrass producers, who suffered decreased revenue in 2020 due to the pandemic are eligible to apply for assistance under CFAP 2. Contract producers include those raising broilers, laying hens, chicken eggs, turkeys and hogs.
Farmers who participated in CFAP 1 are encouraged to check with their local USDA Farm Service Agency office to see if any of their forms need to be updated to apply for this round of assistance.
Applications will be accepted through Feb. 26. Farmers can apply through a local FSA office or online at farmers.gov/cfap2/apply.
