It’s hard for me to get back on track after the holidays. How about you?
For those of you who would like to send Sam Handy a card his address is Sam Handy c/o Teresa Handy, 8425 Caldbeck Drive, Raleigh, NC 27615. Love and prayers to you.
Thanks to Charles and Gloria Biggs for inviting me to lunch after church on Sunday. She had made a beautiful cake, and it was so delicious.
Mary Ann called from D.C.–lots going on there these days. I’m excited as Mary Ann is mailing me some good books to read. I can hardly wait!
Neighbor Teresa Martin had her surgery and is doing well so far. She’s looking great. Larry is doing a great job taking care of her. Keep them in your prayers.
I stopped by to see my 102-year-old neighbor, and she was all dressed up in one of her outfits she got for Christmas. It’s the highlight of my week to see “Miss” Vera Plasters. She is amazing.
The Soup Kitchen made two kinds of chili this week–regular chili and chicken chili. All of it was good. When I picked up the soup for my people, everybody was busy, busy. They work really hard, but always seem to have a lot of fun.
Pastor Marion says we are going on the Daniel Fast at church in February. I’m glad. It will make me eat healthier. I enjoyed it the last time we did it.
The Patrick Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church cooked up a good meal, thanks to the Men’s Ministry. They fixed chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, and rolls. You guys sure did great with that chicken, and I know you put in a lot of hard work. Thank you!
Love and prayers to Regina Shough. Love you and James.
I’m happy to hear that our friend Lester Harris is doing better. Keep him in your prayers.
I was so sorry to hear of the death of Carol Smart. Heartfelt sympathy and love goes out to the family.
I was also sorry to hear of the death of Mary (Grannie) Bowman. I remember her for her quilts and flowers. My love and sympathy to the family.
I was saddened to hear of the death of Lillie Agnew. When they lived on the mountain in the Mountain View community I went to their home a lot on Sunday afternoons. Lots of good memories. My love and heartfelt sympathy go to the family.
Cooking hint: when preparing homemade soups, use margarine instead of butter and herbs instead of salt.

Frost the next day with 1 carton Cool Whip.
Food for thought:
Jesus didn’t say “Feed on whatever you like”. He said “I am the Bread of Life.”
