I was thankful for some much-needed rain in my neighborhood. My thirsty plants sure loved it.
Heartfelt sympathy goes to the family of Patricia Shuff. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I used to take her magazines when she was at The Landmark.
Over at Blackberry Hill it’s beginning to look like the wide open spaces. But in the end maybe it’s progress. I surely miss the stately oaks and I’m sure the animals do also. The bears are making themselves at home in the neighborhood.
Please put Linda Roberts on your prayer list at this time. She would appreciate it.
It was nice to talk to my friend Lanita Harris up in Meadows of Dan. She is doing well, and I was glad to hear that.
The Food Ministry has been blessed lately with a bin of sweet potatoes and a bunch of soup bones; then some money given to buy canned goods. Thanks to Van Rowe for delivery of the sweet potatoes and soup bones.
I’m enjoying a book by Rick Warren titled The Purpose Driven — What on Earth am I Here For? It’s very helpful in everyday life.
Thanks to Arlene Shough and grandson Ben for coming and helping at The Food Ministry when we were short of help. Ben was great help. When we had everything ready, Ben wanted to sing. He did three Johnny Cash songs: “Rusty Cage,” “Hurt” and “God’s Going to Cut You Down.” It was a joy to have Ben’s help.
Seth Perkins and family spent a few days here recently with home folks. They traveled up from Georgia and spent time with family and Mary Ann.
It was a treat to meet the Meadows Family and listen to their beautiful music and singing. There are 11 children in the family. They are so talented. The smaller children were well-behaved. I’m hoping to hear them again soon. They sang on Vera Plaster’s porch and also celebrated a birthday. Hope to see you again soon.
Thanks to William Roberts for the cucumbers and zucchini that he shared from his garden. They surely were good.
Health hint: Water keeps you moving. Your body uses water as a natural lubricant. It cushions your joints and helps them stay limber so you don’t stiffen up like a statue.
