We are so thankful for the rain we got. It was getting really dry in our area, and I had to water to keep the flowers and plants alive.
I went with the Martin clan to the old Skipper’s building operating now as Pacific Bay Seafood in Patrick Springs. It was nice to be with them and I enjoyed a child’s plate of chicken tenders. It was good.
I’ll never forget my friends at Elizabeth’s Pizza. They are my favorites.
“Miss Claudine: Wood up on the mountain loves company. Recently her son Harry came up from Tennessee and spent the day and he always brings lots of goodies. Then Iva Hubbard visited on a different day and as Iva Jane was leaving, Karen Wood (Miss Claudine’s daughter-in-law) came with food. It was a good day for her.
It was a really spiritual service at the Patrick Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church on Sunday, August 12. The Holy Spirit was there and it lasted the entire service.
Pastor Marion brought us workers at the Food Ministry some delicious homemade sourdough bread. It was so good. I came home and had a jumbo tomato sandwich—mmm, good.
Thanks to William Roberts for my bag of jumbo homegrown tomatoes, peppers and butternut squash. I’m so thankful for my fresh homegrown veggies.
I went to the crime watch meeting at Patrick Springs Fire Department. It’s always very informative. It would be nice if people would support the sheriff’s office and attend meetings—you will be glad you did. While there I got to see one of my favorite people, Sister Burgie Penn.
Every time I visit Leonard and Arlene Trent’s home, Arlene always gives me something to eat. This time it was a cup of cantaloupe cut up ready to eat. Thank you.
Keep Donna Rowe on your prayer list as she continues to heal after knee surgery.
The Men’s Ministry cooked up a good country meal of pintos, mashed potatoes, greens, onions and fried corn bread and topped it off with a big red slice of tomato. Those guys in the kitchen at Patrick Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church work hard for the free meal. Thank you! Come and visit on Wednesday night, share a meal and Pastor Marion has a short message. You will be glad you did. Sundays are really special also, and getting better all the time.
Something to think about: 2 Corinthians 12:9 says my grace is sufficient for you, for Power is made perfect in weakness. Remember—there’s a reason they call it “amazing grace.”
Hint: To jazz up zucchini squash, cook in vegetable juice with a little dry onion soup mix
