It was really a nice day for Easter services at church. The sun came up for the sunrise service, and it was beautiful.
On No Business Mountain there is a cell tower on top, and can be seen from the church. During the service a very thin cloud went across the tower and it looked like a cross. Did that have a meaning?
It was nice to go to Charles and Gloria Biggs’ home for lunch Easter Sunday and be with the Martin clan. I’m so blessed to have wonderful friends.
The cross at Providence United Methodist Church looked so pretty lit up as I went to sunrise services. Hopefully they will have it lit again at Christmas.
I’m saddened as I write the column having learned of the death of my very special friend, Bernice Irvin. We shared so much together, the loss of our children, her battle with cancer, many hikes on Sunday afternoons, and our love of flowers, especially iris. She loved nature, her church, family and many friends. My love and sympathy go to the family.
It’s always good to talk to “Miss Claudine” Wood up on the mountain. She does so well for her age. I talk to her every day except Sunday. She said that they also had a large crowd for their sunrise service. They go up on a high, high hill in the John Conner field. It almost looks like you could almost touch the sky. When I lived up there, I went many times to the services.
It surely is good to hear that the Salvation Army is coming to Patrick County. They do a lot of good things.
It was really good to hear Pastor Joe Cerino speak again on Wednesday night.
It looks like April borrowed some of March with all the winds we have had but we don’t control the weather and it’s a good thing.
