The “big” snow came in full force and then it warmed up and went away fast. Then, folks were able to get in some of their Christmas activities. It sure was nice to have things return to normal.
Thanks to everyone who checked on me during the snow and for Brian, Larry and Teresa’s help. It sure was nice that Mary Ann from D.C. called a number of times. I also got a surprise package from her.
Remember the Gasperson’s who use to live in the Mountain View Community – the big house on top of the Lybrook Hill. When they were there, Robert, Jr. was a little boy, now all grown and is a great musician and very handsome. I’m so glad they keep in touch with me.
It was so good to hear from my friend, Irene Pendleton from Woolwine. There are a lot of good memories of working with her at Greenie’s Country Store.
It was good to hear from Pat Stanley who is in Florida for the winter. He sent me the neatest photo of his mother, Mrs. Kitty Spangler, when she was 20 years old. I’ll be using it in the future.
Thanks to Jerry Morgan for the cute snow man plaque. I will treasure it. It’s on the porch gate now.
When I went to “Miss” Vera’s house on Tuesday, she was in the recliner all dressed up for Christmas and had a big surprise in her hand – two gift certificates to Elizabeth’s Pizza. That was a big surprise and is greatly appreciated.
Thanks to Arlene Trent for inviting me to the women’s ministry supper. It was very nice. Thanks for the nice gifts and supper was delicious prepared by Gloria, Teresa, and Larry. It was a good night.
As 2018 comes to an end, I wish to thank all the readers of The Enterprise for your kindness and the comments about The Party Line. It’s been a good year and I made some new friends. Happy New Year!
Pea Salad
2-3 cans sweet peas
1 cup celery, chopped
1 cup onions, chopped
1 cup mayonnaise
1 (16 ounce) bag shredded cheddar cheese
Drain peas; add celery, onions, and cheese and mayonnaise. Mix and chill, better if chilled overnight.
Cooking hint – Use a metal ice tray divider to cut biscuits when in a hurry. Press into the dough and biscuits will separate at dividing lines when cooked.
