Here it is February. Time surely does go fast—or it does for me. January has been really busy but I got in some reading at night and that’s my favorite down time.
It’s so interesting to hear Alan Rakes teach the meaning of the Hebrew language symbols and what they mean—even had us singing in Sunday school.Thanks to whoever left the huge bag of plastic bags on my porch. They surely come in handy at the food ministry. We use a lot of them for bagging food items.Now it’s time to think about Valentine’s Day. Remember when we use to make valentines at school, then later on we bought the cute little ones. Now we go to the store and buy them. It’s a good memory about the valentine box we had at school, and everyone put them in the box and the teacher gave them out.
I was so sorry to hear of the death of Jessie Shough. I visited him at Christmas when he was at his home. My love and heartfelt sympathy go to the family.
It’s time for Providence Methodist Church’s Sub Sunday. They work hard and every year it gets bigger and the money goes to their ministries in our community. The subs were huge and filled with all kinds of good stuff.”Miss Claudine’ says she’s having to stay in and look at the snow and hear the wind blow up on the mountain. Also, she is enjoying all the birds at the bird feeder and loves company.Donna Rowe fixed some delicious chicken vegetable soup at the soup kitchen on Tuesday. They are really busy at the soup kitchen serving 75-80 quarts of soup per week to the elderly, disabled, and disadvantaged individuals and families in Patrick Springs and Stuart. I look forward to seeing all of my people every week.I enjoyed talking to Arlene Trent the other evening and anytime she calls. Leonard and Arlene’s son Bruce is home for a visit.When I went to Vera Plaster’s home for my weekly visit, she was looking pert and smiling. While there, we spied a fox above her house looking down on us and stalking across the hill. Thank goodness it finally went into the woods. The beautiful black cat was on the porch so it could be what the fox was looking at. There are lots of foxes and coyotes plus bears in our area.Hint: for sticky marshmallows, place in a spoonful of powdered sugar and shake well. A few stubborn marshmallows might still need to be separated by hand, but generally this works great.

Pour into pie shell, sprinkle nutmeg on top. Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees and bake for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 325 degrees and bake for about 25 minutes or until done.Food for thought
