The fourth of July was celebrated the usual ways with the celebration at Vesta Community Center and DeHart Park in Stuart, family trips, picnics and family gatherings. I always enjoy the fireworks.
Hot weather keeps the hummingbirds in the azalea bushes a lot. Now I have hummingbird plants blooming along with a lily of the valley bush, so they are eating that, and the nectar.
I was so saddened to hear of the death of my friend, Agnes Hubbard Williams. My love and heartfelt sympathy to the family.
We enjoyed the orphans from Romania at church on Sunday. They were so cute and very well behaved children. The missionary told their story. It’s sad that all can’t be rescued.
So sorry to hear of the death of Mr. Arthur Martin. Love and prayers goes out to the family.
“Miss” Claudine Wood enjoyed her son, Harry, coming up from Tennessee and spending the day with her. He always brings her lots of goodies.
Thanks to Mary Simmons for another loaf of zucchini bread. It is so delicious. I also got to enjoy the dogs, Roscoe and Buddy. Enjoyed their visit so much. The Simmons family add a lot to our neighborhood.
Got caught up on the news in D.C., and now Mary Ann knows what’s going on here. Love you Mary Ann.
Blueberries will soon be ripe on Blueberry Hill. I can hardly wait for some fresh ones off the bushes.
I went into Elizabeth’s Pizza on Tuesday and it was quite busy. My friend, Frank, said he hadn’t seen it like that on Tuesdays. I told him people are getting excited about the 4th of July.
Thanks to the nice lady who made a donation to the Food Ministry at church. She said we helped her when she was struggling and now she wants to help us. This is two times she has helped us. God bless you and we thank you. It will be used wisely.
Thanks to my friend, Curtis, for all the fresh vegetables. I’m sure eating well these days. I’m so blessed.
So sorry to hear of the death of a grand gentleman in our area, Mr. Lee Collins. I loved to see him when he came to All Seasons to get cantaloupes and to music gatherings. My love and sympathy goes out to the family.
Also, I was saddened to hear of the death of Mr. Vernon Belcher. He was a great banjo player and went about life in his own quiet way. My love and heartfelt sympathy.
Thanks to Leford Martin and his family for inviting me to their pool party on the fourth. The food was delicious.
Food for thought – We are so blessed to live in a country where we are free to worship as we please. We should never take our freedom for granted. 2’ Corinthians says, “Now the Lord is the Spirit and where Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”

Now that it’s cantaloupe time – chow down on cantaloupes and you can cover your Vitamin C needs for an entire day. A one-cup serving of cubed fruit supplies 168 milligrams of Vitamin C., one gram of fiber, and 16 IU of beta-carotene.
