It was an exciting weekend for me (May 5-6).
I enjoyed the breakfast at Providence Church and saw a lot of my friends there. I got some plants and got all of them set out. I read a good book. Then, on Sunday, Beverly Woody surprised me by coming up from Martinsville and took me on the mountain to “Miss” Claudine Woods’ 98th birthday celebration. She was all dressed in her favorite color, red. After we left Mt. View Church, we visited with Erona Helms, went to Poor Farmers Market. Also, we stopped at Lovers Leap Birdhouse place. Beverly got me a pretty birdhouse and I met one of the owners. He said he reads The Enterprise.
I was saddened to hear of the death of Mr. Don Graham. He was my boss at Bassett Walker. HE loved animals and fed all the stray dogs in Stuart when he came to work every morning. I will miss talking to Don every time I saw him out and about.
Pauline Turner Walker called me the other day from Williamsburg. She takes The Enterprise. She said she is 90 years old, but seemed to be doing well. I love hearing from the readers.
The Concord Primitive Baptist Church sure does look nice now. There sure is a lot of history there and I have fond memories of going there with my family.
The soup kitchen has their garden going now. Hopefully the deer will stay away again.
Please put Linda Roberts on your prayers list at this time.
It was so good to hear the Senior Melodies sing again on Wednesday at church. You all looked great.
Also, some of my favorite people were at church on Wednesday, Mr. and Mrs. Eppie Brown from Castalia, N.C. Remember all those eggs he brought to Patrick?
Food for thought – The Lord may not come when you call but he is always on time.
