Here it is the month of May. I hardly saw April, it went by so fast.
The Jonathan Bowling Memorial Motorcycle ride was beautiful with lots of riders. I got to watch it with my friend, Frank, from Elizabeth’s Pizza.
Patrick Springs Fire Department had a large crowd for the barbeque supper. It was delicious and a lot of food.
I enjoyed members of The Simmons Family coming by to see me. The grandchildren were doing some bicycle riding. Thanks for the rolls and preserves and your company.
I enjoyed lunch at Charles and Gloria Biggs’ with all the Martin clan on Sunday after church. Thanks for inviting me.
“Miss Claudine” on the mountain is getting all set for a big celebration of her 98th birthday. She loves cards and visits. God bless you dear friend. We talk on the phone almost every day. They will be having a big celebration at Mt. View Methodist Church. More about that later.
The Soup Kitchen decided to do box meals this past week for delivery. It was ham, mashed potatoes, green beans, and corn bread muffins. My clients really did like theirs, and I’m sure everyone else did also. Thanks for all the hard work you do. I appreciate all of you hard workers.
Stopped by “Miss Vera’s,” my 102 year beautiful neighbor. She was doing puzzles and doing them well. It’s a highlight of the day for me to see and talk with her, and see that beautiful smile.
Went to my eye doctor (Dr. Law) and got a better report than I thought I would. Dr. Law is always so kind. Now I guess we will see what’s going on in six months.
I saw something the other day that broke my heart – a handicapped person wanted to shake hands with a person and they refused to shake their hand – how sad.
Martha Washington said, “I have learned from experience that the greater part of our happiness or misery depends on our dispositions and not on our circumstances.”
Heath Apple Salad
1 – 8 oz. Cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup Brown sugar
4 Granny Smith apples – peeled and chopped
2/3 cups Heath bites
1 – 8 oz. Cool Whip, thawed
Mix cream cheese and brown sugar well. Add apples and Heath bites. Fold in Cool Whip.
Health note: Water turns back the clock. Instead of spending a small fortune on facial creams and lotions, sipping natures own beauty fluid water is a natural lubricant. It cushions your joints, helps them stay limber so you don’t stiffen up like a statue.
