I’m still going over my memorable trip to the Amish Community and if I was younger I would love to live there. We met some friendly and loving people.
Thanks to Beverly Woody, I got to go to Slate Mountain Church to the program honoring our ancestors from the Rock Castle Gorge. It was well attended and I met a lot of people who read the Enterprise. I also learned a lot about the people who lived there, thanks to a 92-year-old gentleman who remembered a lot about the area. He was a walking history book and related some funny and interesting stories, some sad and some funny. It was a wonderful day and memorable.
Thanks to Jerry Morgan for saving me a beautiful throw and some other things at the Jesus House. He calls me “Grandma” because I remind him of his grandmother.
Still keep Belinda Barnes (manager of the Jesus House) in your prayers as she heals from a bad automobile accident.
They say the Patrick County Fair was a huge success with large crowds. I remember going to the fair when it was in the cornfield near where the sheriff’s office is now. Boy! That’s long ago!!
I was so sorry to hear of the death of Margaret Pendleton. My love and heartfelt sympathy go to the family.
“Miss Claudine” Wood loves company and she was so happy when Iva Jane Hubbard came to visit recently.
It’s always a joy to visit my neighbor Vera Plasters (101 years old). When I went by the other day she was watching “Bonanza” on TV and having a good time. It was good to see Barbara Wood who was there also.
Love and prayers go to Juanita Mengelt. I hope and pray you are feeling better after your stay in the hospital.
I had a note from cousin Evaline Bolt Irwin and she sent me a photo of my cousin Delora (and her dogs) of Richmond. It was so good to hear from them. There’s lots of good memories of when they came to Grandma Dollie’s.
On Wednesday at the Patrick Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church we had 100 people come through the Food Ministry line in two hours . It was a busy time and we were blessed to have enough food for everyone. Thank the Lord for supplying our need.
Remember: comfort isn’t ours alone – it is to be shared with those we encounter each day.
Please keep Dorothy Vipperman in your prayers. She lost her brother recently. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
