Mountain Valley Hospice & Palliative Care needs more fans and A/C units

Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative care has seen an increase in the need for fans and air conditioners for its clients and the community. During the summer months several families in our community don’t have the necessary means to keep cool.
One of the goals at Mountain Valley Hospice is keeping its patients comfortable as it possibly can for as long as it can.
Mountain Valley Hospice has been involved with collecting fans/AC units for the past nine years.
“I remember there was a patient that lived in a mobile home and the a/c was broken. He was on oxygen and had a hard time breathing. He only had one small window a/c thus he had to stay in one room when it was hot,” said Sheila Jones, director of Marketing with Mountain Valley Hospice.” We were able to put second small window unit in his home and significantly increased his quality of life. He was able to go to other rooms of his home to be with family instead of being in the one room that had the air working in it.”
Folks can drop fans/air conditioner units off at the Mountain Valley Hospice office nearest to their homes. For more information call 1 (888) 789-2922
“Please if you are doing home cleaning and find a fan you are not using,” Jones said. “We can put it to good use. Or get your office, Sunday school class, or social/service club to purchase one or two for a family in need.”
Drop off Mountain Valley Hospice locations include the corporate office at 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, N.C.; the local office at 18981 Jeb Stuart Hwy., Stuart; 1477 Carrollton Pike in Hillsville and Hillsville; and 730 East Church Street, Suite 13 in Martinsville.
