Mrs. Shirley Pendleton Harris

Mrs. Shirley Pendleton Harris, age 81 of Stuart, passed away November 17, 2020 at her home.  She was born on April 2, 1939 to the late Delmar Joe and Elsie May Rakes Pendleton.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by his grandparents, Abe Reed and Ida Hubbard Pendleton, and Thomas Homer and Cassie Lena Brammer Rakes; great-grandparents, George Washington and Martha Light Pendleton, John C. and Sarah Belcher Hubbard, Dennis and Nancy Via Rakes, and George Washington and Caroline Thomas Brammer Rakes, along with brothers, Jimmie D. and Johnnie R. Pendleton; a sister, Vera Pendleton Harbour; and brothers in law, George Wesley Harbour Sr. and Boyd “Bob” Kidd.  Shirley attended Jack’s Creek Primitive Baptist Church and had retired from Liberty Fabrics after 38 years of service.

She is survived by her spouse of 54 years, JE Harris Jr. of Stuart VA; daughter, Lisa Harris-Chavez and son-in-law, Steve of Sacramento, CA.

Surviving siblings include Elva Pendleton, Larmie (Arnold) Hylton, Judy Kidd, Gary Pendleton, Gerald Pendleton, Dan (Sherry) Pendleton, and Ron Pendleton.  She is also survived by a sister in law, Jean Pendleton and aunts, Frances Rakes Lyon, Elaine Rakes Adkins, and Lorene Rakes Guilliams; along with many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Friday, November 20, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Jack’s Creek Primitive Baptist Church cemetery with Elder David Kamoda officiating.  Friends may come by Moody Funeral Home in Stuart on Thursday, November 19, 2020 from 12 to 5 to pay their respects.  Online condolences may be sent to www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
