Mrs. Vivian Bowman Joyce, 88 of Critz, passed away Friday, December 11, 2020 at the Blue Ridge Therapy Connection. She was born in Patrick County on March 27, 1932 to the late Pet Bowman and Gertha Collins Bowman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvis “Dickie” Joyce; one daughter, Donna Joyce; one sister, Judy Angel; and one brother, Clayton Bowman. Vivian had been a teacher in Patrick County for over 40 years. She was a member of Stuart Church of Christ in Dry Pond. She loved working on the farm and gardening.
Surviving are one son, Dr. Richard Joyce of Charlottesville; one brother and sister-in-law, Coolidge and Mary Sue Bowman of Mt. Airy, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Sunday, December 13, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Bowman Family Cemetery. Friends may come by Moody Funeral Home in Stuart on Saturday from 2 to 5 to pay their respects.
