Beginning fall 2019, the Digital Media Technology program at Surry Community College will be offering a new Multimedia certificate.
This new certificate was created for teachers who would like to produce multimedia content for instruction. Students enrolled in the Digital Media Technology – Multimedia certificate program will take classes in digital design, audio and video editing, multimedia applications, digital animation, and they will explore emerging technologies in the field of digital media. The Multimedia certificate is also an excellent opportunity for those currently working in the fields of marketing or graphic design to update their skill sets.
SCC is hosting a Computer & Electronics Engineering Technologies open house for prospective students on Tuesday, April 23, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the E-Building, on the Dobson campus. The Digital Media Technology program will be featured in this event.
Event participants will be entered in a $250 scholarship drawing provided by the Surry Community College Foundation. Pre-registration is requested at www.surry.edu, which enters students into the scholarship drawing. Student Services staff will be on hand to help prospective students with college application, class registration, and financial aid resources.
The Digital Media Technology program prepares students for entry-level jobs in the digital design and multimedia industry. Students learn to synthesize multimedia, hypertext, computer programming, information architecture, and client/server technologies using both Internet and non-network-based media.
