CARLENE KEITH SHELOR
Carlene Keith Shelor, 77, of Meadows of Dan, passed away peacefully in her home on June 15th, 2018.
She was born on January 31, 1941, to the late Gracie Burnette Keith Cockram and Esley Keith in Meadows of Dan. She had eight brothers and sisters.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Mike Shelor; daughter, Felecia Shelor; granddaughter, Casey Davis; great-grandchildren, Rain and Banner Davis all of Meadows of Dan. She was baptized in 2007 and is now with her Lord and Savior.
A funeral service was held on Sunday, June 17, at Concord Primitive Baptist Church. A graveside service was at the Burnette family cemetery. Elder Tim McGrady presided. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
KATHY LYNN ALLIGOOD HAYES
Kathy Lynn Alligood Hayes, 64, of Patrick Springs, died on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at her home. She was born on September 6, 1953, in Washington, N.C. to the late Ethel Wooland Alligood and Milton Alligood.
She worked as a teacher assistant and was a member of Stella Christian Church.
She is survived by her husband, Steve Hayes of the home, three daughters; Rachel Hayes of Stuart, Anna Hayes Smallwood and husband Wesley, of Louisa, Sarah Hayes of Patrick Springs, two adopted sons; Eric Pruitt and Blake Pruitt of Concord, N.C., two brothers; Harold Alligood of Washington, N.C., Phillip Alligood of Elizabeth City, N.C. and one grand-child; Evelyn Hayes-Linton of Patrick Springs; two nieces and one nephew.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Stella Christian Church where Minister David Cuthbertson and Dr. Johnny Presley officiated. Burial was private. ELVA MAY HALL THOMAS
Elva May Hall Thomas, age 96 of Stuart, winged her way to her heavenly home on June 16, 2018. She was born in Patrick County on September 2, 1921, to the late Dennis Hall and Gladys H. Hall. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Alex E. Thomas, Jr; one son, Glenn H. Thomas; one daughter, Elva May Thomas; one granddaughter, Heather Thomas; two brothers, Clyde and Dennis Hall, Jr; one sister, Audrey Hodges; one sister-in-law, Lucy J. Anderson. She was a longtime member of Stuart Primitive Baptist Church and retired from J.P. Stevens and Patrick County Public Schools. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
She is survived by one daughter, LaVergne Collins (Jessie) of Patrick Springs; one son, Vann Thomas of Stuart; seven grandchildren, Alexis King (Benny), Rodney East (Tammy), Laura Buchanan, Rebecca King (Derik), Karen Harman (Melvin), Darrell Collins (Jessica) and Ginger Hutter (Mark); ten great grandchildren, Savannah King, Logan King, Breanne Buchanan, Tyler Buchanan, Emma Buchanan, Madeline Hutter, Grace Hutter, Zachary Hutter, Thomas Kellam, and Joshua Kellam; two sisters, Nancy Midkiff (Blanco) of Woolwine, and Annie Bell Dalton of Stuart; three brothers, Bobby Hall (Anna) of Collinsville, Garnett Hall (Ruth) of Hillsville, and Ralph Hall (Irstine) of Stuart; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart with Elder Tim McGrady and Pastor Keith Vernon officiating. Burial was in Patrick Memorial Gardens with Mike Dalton, Jimmy Ray Hall, Gary Anderson, Perry Hughes, David Midkiff, and Ralph Hall serving as pallbearers.
