ELVA LUCY REYNOLDS BURGCHARDT
Elva Lucy Reynolds Burgchardt, age 90, of Stuart, and formerly of Warren, Pa., passed away on Monday, April 30, 2018, at the Blue Ridge Therapy Connection in Stuart.
She was born in Patrick County on August 5, 1927, to the late Hassie T. Reynolds and Mildred Fulcher Reynolds. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl R. Burgchardt, Jr.; two sisters, Mary Irvine Fasano and Martha Ivis Hutcheson, and one brother, Buddy Reynolds.
After finishing high school at age 15, Elva left the family farm to attend Virginia Tech, graduating with a bachelor’s degree. She got her master’s degree at University of Iowa, where she met and married her husband, Carl. She worked for decades as a registered dietitian, including many years at Warren General Hospital in Pa. Her family remembers her fondly as a loving mother, sister, grandmother, civic volunteer, and friend to many.
Surviving are her three children: Carl R. Burgchardt III, of Fort Collins, Colo.; Kathryn D. Burgchardt of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Kurt R. Burgchardt of Redondo Beach, Calif.; four sisters, Dae Williams of Stuart, Mae Holoman of Portsmouth, Drue Hurd of Winston Salem, N.C., and Sue Smart of Charlottesville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart, with the Rev. Dr. Chreston Holoman officiating. Burial followed in Patrick Memorial Gardens. HUBERT MARION GOINS
Hubert Marion Goins, 86, of Claudville, passed away Friday, May 04, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Patrick County on March 9, 1932, to the late Alexander Marion and Nina Pell Goins.
He was retired from Pike Electric and a member of Mt. Ararat Pentecostal Holiness Church. He proudly served our country in the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Matthews Goins of the home; daughters and son-in-law, Ruth Lawson of Stuart, Nina and Benny Mabe of Kernersville, N.C.; son and daughter-in-law, Stan and Barbara Goins of Claudville; grandchildren, Jennifer and Nick Rominger, Amanda and John Romjue, Kelly and Stephanie Goins, James and Amanda Mabe, Bradley and Angelia Goins, and Melissa Stanley; twelve great grandchildren; a sister, Vodia Rice of Claudville; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Steve Goins; a son-in-law, Richard Lawson; sisters, Amy Goins, Rada Davis, Parry Lewis, Zola Wilson; brothers, Roscoe, and Carson Goins.
A graveside service was held Sunday, May 6, 2018 at the Goins Family Cemetery with the Rev. Ricky Rogers and the Rev. Tony Goins officiating, and with full military honors conducted by VFW Memorial Honor Guard Post 2019 of Mount Airy, N.C. and Post 9436 of Pilot Mountain, N.C. DONALD FRANCIS GRAHAM
Donald Francis Graham, age 87, of Stuart passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at his home. He was born in Northampton, Mass. on August 26, 1930, to the late Mr. James Perley Graham and Lela Frances Fulton Graham.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Constance Hart Graham; three brothers, Lynn Woodbury Graham, Glenn Graham, and Walter Wesley Graham; two sisters, Carol Josephine Brown and Beverly Ann Cotnoir.
Surviving are his sister, Verna McMahon of Easthampton, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.

REV. WILLIAM “CURTIS” HALL
Rev. William “Curtis” Hall, age 81, of Stuart passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at Blue Ridge Nursing Home in Stuart. He was born in Patrick County on June 17, 1936, to the late William Arthur Hall and Mattie Naomi Ellis Hall.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Frye Hall and one daughter, Regina H. Wilson.
Rev. Hall faithfully served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He had served as a pastor for over fifty years, with many of those years at Five Forks Wesleyan Church, where he was still a member.
Rev. Hall is survived by his loving wife, Estelle Morris Hall of the home; two sons, Thomas Hall of Minn., and Edward Hall of Stuart; three grandchildren, William Wilson, Jackson Hall and Sydney Hall; two step-sons, Ricky Hughes and Tim Hughes, both of Stuart; five step-grandchildren; son-in-law, Rob Wilson of Stuart; five step-great grandchildren; a brother, Clarence Hall of Stuart; a sister, Pauline Rakes of Stuart and two nieces.
Funeral services for Rev. Hall will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Gary Combs officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Five Forks Wesleyan Church Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Wednesday (today) evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. GEORGE WILLIAM HARRIS
George William Harris, age 88, of Stuart, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at his home. He was born in West Virginia on January 20, 1930, to the late Henry Ellis Harris and Mae Castello Harris.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Zenda Mae Biggs.
Mr. Harris was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church. He was a hardworking man, who never met a stranger and loved his family dearly.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Catherine Biggs Harris of the home; four children, Debbie Handy and partner, Luke DelPo of Smith Mountain Lake, Patty Hazelwood and husband, Danny of Stuart, George H. Harris and wife, Beverly of Stuart, and Kevin Harris and wife, Dottie of Martinsville; seven grandchildren, Stephanie Burton, Michael Hazelwood (Leigh Ann), Misty Roberts (Andy), Chris Harris (Leanne), Kristen Harris, Kayla Soots, and Brandon Harris (Jessica); eleven great grandchildren, and a half sister, Helen Spencer of Roanoke.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, May 5, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart with Pastor Gerald Melton officiating.
