WILLIAM EUGENE WEBB
William Eugene Webb, 69 of Meadows of Dan, passed away October 29, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ethelene and Wilson Webb. He was a veteran and served in the United States Army. He was an avid hunter and loved bluegrass music.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Sue Webb; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Charlie Webb; daughter & son-in-law, Sherry and Dale Slaughter; grandchildren, Haley Jade Slaughter and Duncan Isaiah Slaughter; sister, Debora Keith; niece, Melissa Mills; nephew, Justin Keith.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 5, 2018, at Maberry Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 – 5 p.m. on Sunday, November 4, 2018, at Maberry Funeral Home.

MATTHEW ALAN CORBETT
Matthew Alan Corbett, age 59, died Saturday, October 20, 2018, at his home. He was born July 9, 1959, to Lee Corbett and Ann West Corbett, later Ann Hale. He was a graduate of the University of Virginia, formerly a U. S. Marine, and made his living as a sports journalist. He followed the family lineage as a friend to all birds and animals, particularly cats.
Matt is survived by his sister-in-law and brother, Karen and Chris Corbett; his nieces and nephews, Erica Cipko, Jackie Corbett, Marshall Corbett, and Alex Cipko; his uncle and aunt, Bill and Betty West; cousins Johnny and Kim Elder, Doug and Joyce Elder, Bob and Dawn Marie Elder, Tim West, Lee Hudgins, Gayle and Greg Meade, Randy and Danielle West, Jeff and Jennifer West, Taylor West and Ryan Johnson; loyal friends Jeff Turner, James Martin, Vincent Childress, and Pete Campbell; and former wife Stephanie LaPrade.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 3rd, at 11 a.m., at Moody Funeral Home, which is handling arrangements for the family, with a family visitation one hour before the service, and lunch provided after the service. GARVIN M. HUBBARD
Garvin M. Hubbard, 72, of Patrick Springs, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at The Blue Ridge Therapy Connection. He was born in Patrick County on February 2, 1946, to the late Benjamin Monroe and Fanny Ruth Webb Hubbard. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Faye Hubbard and Brenda Kaye Hubbard; a brother, Layman Ray Hubbard and mother-in-law, Oleen Graham.
He was a member of Peoples Church of the Living God and had retired as a Truck driver for Advance Auto Parts. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend to all.
Surviving is his wife, Shirley Graham Hubbard of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law, Drema Joyce and husband Dennie, of Fuquay-Varina, N.C., Lavina Corns, of Spencer, Shanan Turner and husband Barry, of Ridgeway; Five grandchildren, James Joyce, Kristina Joyce, Brode Corns, Bryar Turner and Samantha Turner; and father-in-law, James Graham.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 1, 2018, at Moody Funeral home in Stuart with Pastor Dwayne Pruitt and Rev. Harry Johnston officiating.
