Giving Tuesday, the global day of generosity, returned December 2, with One Family Productions calling on the Patrick County community to join the movement. This year, the organization intends to raise $2,000 to sustain and grow Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program in Patrick County, and it’s not too late to get involved.

In partnership with the Patrick County Chamber of Commerce, STEP, Inc., and the Rotary Club of Stuart, One Family Productions is working to ensure that every child in Patrick County has access to high-quality books during the most critical years of early childhood development.

“Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library doesn’t just deliver books – it delivers opportunity,” said Rebecca Adcock, Executive Director of the Patrick County Chamber of Commerce. “This program strengthens early literacy, builds family reading habits, and brings organizations across our community together behind a shared vision for Patrick County’s future.”

The timing of this year’s campaign is especially meaningful. 2025 marks the 30th anniversary of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, which has grown to more than 3 million children enrolled worldwide and recently celebrated mailing its 300 millionth book.

Locally, the program continues to expand. All Patrick County children ages 0–5 are eligible to receive one free book in the mail each month, delivered directly to their homes. A donation of $31 sponsors one child for an entire year, making the program both impactful and accessible for donors of all sizes.

“We’re raising funds to build long-term sustainability,” said Sarah Wray, One Family Productions board member. “Grassroots generosity and community action are powerful forces for good, and Giving Tuesday is the perfect moment to invest in our youngest learners.”

To encourage early momentum, the Patrick County Chamber of Commerce will match the first $500 donated during the campaign.

Donations can be made online by visiting www.onefamilyproductions.com or checks made payable to One Family Productions can be mailed to PO Box 122 Stuart, VA 24171.
