Patrick Henry Community College (PHCC) will hold an open house for workforce training on Tuesday, August 15, and according to college officials, it could be the first step a student takes toward attaining their dream career.
The open house begins at 5:30 in Frith Hall, room 154, on PHCC’s main campus. Attendees will discover career training options, learn about financial aid options, and can ask questions directly to college representatives.
Upcoming career training programs include: Certified Nurse Aide, Clinical Medical Assistant, Certified Billing and Coding, Veterinary Assistant, Electrical Groundsman, Commercial Driver’s License Training, Certified Production Technician, and Customer Service and Food Service Training. Students can also complete the following programs at PHCC’s Patrick County site: Electrical Groundsman, Management Bootcamp, Microsoft Office 2013, and the OSHA 30 Training Program
Some of the training programs start as early as August 18; many of the courses can be completed in less than six months and are eligible for the Governor’s Workforce Credential Grant (WCG) which covers two-thirds the cost of eligible programs.
During the open house, attendees will receive complete details on the length of the programs, WCG eligibility, other available financial assistance opportunities and more.
Attendees also will be registered to win a $25 gas card.
