The opening reception and awards ceremony of the 41st annual JEB Stuart Art Show is scheduled for Thursday, September 1 at 6 p.m.
The public is invited to attend and meet the artists, vote for the People’s Choice Award, and enjoy refreshments while viewing the show.
“This is the largest show we’ve hosted at the Reynolds Homestead in more than 10 years,” said senior program manager Lisa Martin. “There are 68 individual artists entered into the competition and 133 works of art on display.”
Over $2,000 in prizes are awarded at the reception in four categories: Oil and Acrylic Painting; Watercolor, Pastels, Drawings and Other 2D; Photography; and Three Dimensional, including Fiber and Jewelry, Wood and Pottery, and Other 3D.
“This is one of our favorite events of the year,” said Martin, “and we look forward to everyone coming out to support our local artists.”
Martin also expressed her appreciation for Bull Mountain Arts, the local arts organization that helps support the show financially and with volunteers.
The reception begins at 6 p.m. and the awards are presented at 7 p.m.
